Longmore
Longmore Forest (as we know it) comprises approximately 20,000 ha of land in the area between Hankey and Rocklands. Historically the forest has been managed as four different blocks namely:
Van Stadens forest: The old Van Stadens forest station is now Culturama, an educational venue managed by the Department of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture. The venue is accessed from a dirt road near Rocklands
Longmore forest: This is now the main office for the forest management (Mountain to Oceans - formerly SAFCOL). The station is accessed by turning right onto a gravel road directly after coming off the N2 and taking the road to Hankey (via Loerie)
Loerie forest: This is the disused forest station where Fat Tracks used to have a house and where we have established trails. The station is accessed via Longmore, using a detour which avoids the private land of Cypherfontein (Protea farm)
Otterford forest: This forest station has been abandoned and is accessed via the dirt road to the PPC Loerie mine. When riding in this area, please note that you require permission from PPC to park your vehicles within the security boom or to enter PPC land. To make arrangements, please contact Oumies Van Heerden at 0422-870611. Please exercise extreme caution when riding in the area as large mining vehicles still utilize the road. The usual conditions of access to the Mountains to Oceans (MTO - formerly SAFCOL) forest areas apply
Please note that a permit from Mountains to Oceans is required to ride in Longmore forest. As a club Fat Tracks originally organized access to Longmore Forest. We are particularly proud of having responsibly used Longmore Forest for more than 10 years. Our access to the MTO forest is dependent on continued responsible use. Please help us maintain our tradition by reporting transgressions of laws, regulations and norms of Longmore to the appropriate authority. Alternatively, please send us an email.
MTO permits are available from the Longmore Forest Station or from Cyclo Pro.

The farm measures 72 hectares and we have been offered the use of another 170 ha that lies between Norm-Hudlin and the N2 freeway. This unspoilt wilderness is inhabited by horses, buck & plenty of bird life.
The farm is located 3km's from the railway line on the Kragga Kamma Road , just past the turn off to the Kragga Kamma Game Park .
