Welcome to Fat Tracks!

Thank you for joining the Eastern Cape’s most active cycling club. Established in 1989, when mountain biking was first gaining popularity in South Africa, Fat Tracks was founded for like-minded riders to celebrate the joys of mountain biking together, and this spirit is still at the heart of Fat Tracks today.

Catering for all levels of fitness and skill, Fat Tracks boasts numerous social rides aimed at involving the whole family. We also organize race events in and around the Port Elizabeth region. Fat Tracks members range from novice cyclists, social riders, competitive racers and even some who compete at World Champs level.

For those new members (and members renewing for 2011), here are a few important points regarding your Cycling South Africa (CSA) license:

CSA/SA-MTB Licensing Requirements

Licensing is COMPULSORY for all competitors at all events.

CSA

The ruling from Cycling South Africa is that all unlicensed riders will be expected to pay a day license fee of R35 at all events, except for distances of less than 20 km which are considered fun events. To get a CSA license you need to belong to a club and then apply for a license on the website: PLEASE NOTE: Seeding will be based on participant history and ability ONLY. License type will not carry any seeding advantage.

Now that all the admin business has been taken care, we look forward to seeing you soon at one of our social rides or events.  Once again we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for joining Fat Tracks.  Keep checking www.fattracks.co.za for updates.
