4th October 2011

Whether you choose to ride the challenging 45km, the shorter, easier 30km race or the leisurely 15km route on Saturday 8 October, you're in for a treat.

The Ridge Mania event will provide you all with a unique opportunity to race or ride leisurely through the stunning Yellowoods Private Game Reserve while all those who don’t ride can enjoy the food stalls, exclusive tea/coffee garden, highland games, monster slide and other activities for children.

The farm manager and his crew have been extremely busy opening up parts of the farm to make it mountain bike accessible, by cutting oooooodles of single track for those entering the 45km ride.
The 30km ride is mostly on farm roads and jeep tracks, with some easy single track. The views over the bay to Jeffrey’s are amazing so bring your camera if you don’t wish to race.

The farm is stocked with Zebra, Giraffe, Bontebok, Nyala, Lechwe, Rooibok, Waterbuck and more. There’ll be more chance of spotting the game because the 45km riders do a loop, so it may not only be the racing snakes who get the privilege of viewing the game, as is the case so often!

There is also a 15km ride up to the Van Stadens Wild Flower Reserve – around it twice and back to the start, the car park. This is suitable for beginners to mountain biking and children from the ages of 10/11. (generally flat).
